About Bernadette (she/her)

Who I Work With

You don’t have to have it all figured out to come to therapy. In fact, most of the people I work with don’t.

I work with adolescents, young adults, and adults who are thoughtful, self-aware, and often carrying more than they let on. Many of my clients are navigating eating disorders, emotional overwhelm, relationship stress, or family dynamics while still showing up to life looking like they are “doing fine.”

I most often work with teen girls and women, and I also work with men who are looking for a more grounded, honest way to understand themselves and their relationships. You might be someone who feels things deeply but does not always know how to process or express them, takes care of others at the expense of yourself, or feels stuck in overthinking, control, or trying to “fix” things while quietly feeling overwhelmed.

How I Help

I help teens and adults who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or responsible for everything learn how to better understand their emotions, build healthier relationships, and move through life with more clarity and steadiness.

In our work, we slow things down, build practical skills, and create space for what is happening beneath the surface so that change feels both meaningful and sustainable.

My Approach

I offer a warm, grounded, and nonjudgmental space where you can be honest, messy, and real without fear of being judged. At the same time, I provide structure, guidance, and practical tools to support meaningful change.

My work integrates:

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

  • Somatic and body-based approaches

  • Relational therapy

This allows us to work not only through conversation, but also through how you experience emotions in your body, your relationships, and your daily life. My approach is especially supportive for those who benefit from both skills-based structure and deeper, relational and somatic processing.

Areas of Focus

I am especially focused on supporting clients navigating:

  • Eating disorders, disordered eating, and body image concerns

  • Emotional dysregulation and feeling overwhelmed

  • Anxiety, perfectionism, and chronic over-functioning

  • Relationship challenges, including boundaries, communication, and identity

  • Family dynamics and caregiving roles

  • Life transitions and work-related stress

What Therapy With Me Feels Like

Therapy with me is a place where you can show up as you are, without needing to have the right words or a clear starting point. We move at a pace that feels supportive while still working toward meaningful change.

Together, we focus on helping you feel more connected to yourself, more steady in your emotions, and more confident in how you show up in your relationships and your life.

If you are looking for a space that is both supportive and structured, where you can be real while also learning new ways of navigating what you are going through, I would be honored to work with you.

Training & Experience

I have worked in a variety of clinical settings, including LifeWorks, a leading nonprofit in Austin, and University of Texas at Austin. These experiences have shaped my understanding of how meaningful change happens within the context of strong, supportive relationships.

My work is informed by ongoing training in DBT, somatic approaches, and trauma-informed care, and I remain committed to continued learning and professional growth.

Services & Fees

30-MINUTE CONSULTATION | FREE

New clients are offered a free initial 30-minute phone or face-to-face consultation. During a consultation, the therapist is happy to answer any questions you may have for them. You can discuss things like what to expect from therapy and what you are looking for in a therapist. You can also briefly discuss the concerns you are having and your reason for seeking counseling to ensure that you and the therapist you’re interested in working with will be a good fit for working together.

90-MIN HOLISTIC BIOPSYCHOSOCIAL INTAKE SESSION | $225*

This session is different from a consult session. This initial session allows you to relay important history and background information, discuss in detail what brings you to counseling, and what you hope to gain from counseling. It also includes initial treatment planning and collaboration with other providers, such as psychiatrists, dietitians, and other therapists.

INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING SESSIONS

Individual session fees include DBT phone coaching between sessions and collaborations with other providers, such as psychiatrists, dietitians, and family therapists.
