About Chelsea (she/her)

My journey as a Licensed Professional Counselor has been deeply rewarding, shaped by a commitment to authentic, compassionate care. With more than a decade of clinical experience, I believe healing begins with connection — creating safe spaces where clients feel seen, supported, and empowered to build meaningful lives.

Before founding Healgood Holistic Counseling Center, I worked in diverse inpatient and outpatient settings supporting individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, eating disorders, trauma, substance use, and life transitions. These experiences shaped my holistic counseling approach, which considers biological, psychological, environmental, and sociocultural influences on well-being.

I’m known for a direct, compassionate, collaborative and relational therapeutic style, with a generous infusion of humor. I see my role as a guide, applying “gentle pressure relentlessly," helping my clients step into their power and take actionable steps toward their best lives. I also collaborate with other health professionals, such as psychiatrists and dietitians, to ensure comprehensive care tailored to each client’s unique needs.

My clinical work integrates DBT, CBT, EMDR, relational therapy, trauma-informed care, interpersonal neurobiology, psychodynamic theory, developmental psychology, motivational interviewing, and harm reduction (you can learn more about these therapeutic approaches here). My practice is rooted in Health at Every Size® and Intuitive Eating principles.

I am committed to ongoing professional growth to provide the best care possible. I completed DBT Skills Training in 2012 and EMDR basic training in 2019. That same year, I advanced my standing by obtaining licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor, allowing me to mentor and train the next generation of counselors. Recognizing the significance of my work with eating disorders, I earned the designation of Certified Eating Disorders Specialist and Consultant (CEDS-C) in 2020. In 2023, I expanded my expertise further by completing training as a Perinatal Mental Health Specialist (PMH-C) through Postpartum Support International.

In addition to clinical work, I serve as a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor, providing supervision and mentorship to Associates as they work toward licensure. I co-founded the WisePractice Institute with DeLinda Spain, LCSW-S, CGP, where we provide continuing education and training, including our 40-Hour Clinical Supervision Training for LPCs, LCSWs, and LMFTs in Texas.

I’ve held leadership roles at two non-profits, Central Texas Eating Disorder Specialists (CTEDS) and the Association for Size Diversity and Health (ASDAH), presented at regional, national, and international conferences, and contributed expertise to multiple publications. Through both Healgood and WisePractice, I strive to empower clients, clinicians, and supervisors to thrive.

When I’m not working, I do my best to “practice what I preach” while parenting my two kids, sipping lukewarm coffee with my fur baby, or radically accepting that glitter has become a permanent feature in my home.

Services & Fees

30-MINUTE CONSULTATION | FREE

New clients are offered a free initial 30-minute phone or face-to-face consultation. During a consultation, the therapist is happy to answer any questions you may have for them. You can discuss things like what to expect from therapy and what you are looking for in a therapist. You can also briefly discuss the concerns you are having and your reason for seeking counseling to ensure that you and the therapist you’re interested in working with will be a good fit for working together.

90-MIN HOLISTIC BIOPSYCHOSOCIAL INTAKE SESSION | $295

This session is different from a consult session. This initial session allows you to relay important history and background information, discuss in detail what brings you to counseling, and what you hope to gain from counseling. It also includes initial treatment planning and collaboration with other providers, such as psychiatrists, dietitians, and other therapists.

INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING SESSIONS

Individual session fees include DBT phone coaching between sessions and collaborations with other providers, such as psychiatrists, dietitians, and family therapists.
