About The Group

Our Divergent Discoveries group is a weekly, in-person support group focused on supporting teens in processing and navigating the unique challenges that accompany neurodivergency. The group will focus on providing community, psychoeducation & skills development, and a supportive environment to explore and understand neurodiversity.

If you're a teen questioning what it means to be neurodivergent or you're the parent of a remarkable kiddo on this extraordinary spectrum, you're not alone. Our group is a safe, welcoming space where you can explore, connect, and grow.

We are all uniquely wired, yet the world often seems tailored to only specific types of wiring. This mismatch can create feelings of loneliness and isolation as you or your child attempt to navigate a world that may not always feel inclusive or accommodating. In our group, we understand these challenges intricately. We're here to offer a supportive, understanding community where you can explore your neurodivergent journey, gain insights, and build connections with others who are navigating similar paths.

Together, we're rewriting the narrative, making space for all types of wiring, and ensuring no one feels alone in this journey.

What to Expect

In this group, we dive into the world of neurodiversity through psychoeducation and process discussion to empower you with knowledge and understanding. It's a place where you can process your experiences, share your thoughts, and build meaningful connections with fellow teens who are on similar journeys. Together, we'll focus on skill development to help you thrive in various aspects of life, whatever that may look like for you.

Join us in embracing your unique neurodivergent journey, gaining insights, and finding the support you deserve. Let's explore and grow together! Here’s more of what you can expect:

  • Self-Discovery: Build self-awareness and gain insights by exploring your identity and values, recognizing your inherent self-worth, and learning to trust yourself.

  • Support: Gain support around teen stressors - navigating relationships and social life, coping with school stressors and academic pressures, self-esteem issues, and difficult emotions like anxiety and depression.

  • Goal Setting: Craft meaningful goals and embark on a path to achieve them.

  • Self-Compassion & Self-Care: Practice and embrace self-compassion and self-care as a foundation for your well-being.

  • Emotional Intelligence: Cultivate emotional intelligence and better understand yours and others’ emotions, along with why and how we experience them.

  • Community: Connect with peers, share experiences, and build a validating support network that understands your unique journey.

  • Relationships: Navigate the intricacies of relationships, foster healthy relationships, connections, and communication styles. Learn and practice effective communication of thoughts, feelings, as well as boundaries and asserting your wants and needs.

Divergent Discoveries is a safe space for teens to gather to explore, grow, and celebrate their unique selves.

For potential members, we kindly request a commitment to the full 12-week journey, ensuring a consistent, trusting, and safe environment for all. Together, we can explore, heal, and grow.
